PingTool: Creating an HTML file

PingTool can create an HTML file containing the ping results. The HTML file, which is generated every 2 seconds, is similar to the PingTool dashboard and can be displayed in any web browser.

The HTML file can be made available via the file system to other clients that have not started PingTool. It can also be used via a web server (e.g. Internet Information Server IIS) by clients that do not run Windows, for example IOS or Android smartphones, Linux or Apple computers. All you need is a browser.

Setup - just one entry in PingTool.ini

Proceed as follows to create the HTML file every two seconds:

  1. Exit PingTool
  2. Make the following entry in the PingTool.ini file: HtmlFile=C:\temp\PingTool.html
  3. Start PingTool

If there are spaces in the file path, enter the path with spaces and without quotation marks.

The generated HTML file has a built-in refresh timer of 3 seconds. It is therefore updated by the browser every 3 seconds.
